it's 2008

Hi 2008! What do you have in store for us? Bad or good? Whatever it is, God will guide us through! I’d better brace myself for you, haha. I wanna be somebody this year, there are things that I wanna do, will you let me? Please? Pretty please? If you let me, I’ll do my best. 2007 has been kind to me, in fact 2007 was great. Those wonderful things that I am left to do, I’ll still do. For the new things, am willing to try as long as it will do my family good. It’s all for my family now. I am not asking much. A simple life that is all I ask. Not much worry, no trouble, don’t give me things I can’t do. God knows what I can and cannot do, please consult with Him before throwing things at me. He has always blessed my life, I hope that this year, I can share more to others . Hope to understand people better, to gain friends. Hope to learn more to be able to share more. More patience means more peace and quiet. More peace and quiet means better thinking. Better thinking means desirable output. Good output means contentment. Contentment radiates happiness. Happiness is contagious.=) LOL, what can you say?

I have cooked Bringhe! It is the kapampangan version of valenciana or paella. No sweat! lol. Calrose rice is difficult to predict, do not know the water-rice ratio and also had a hard time looking for banana leaves. Euge said it tastes good, hehehe, his first bringhe ever. They had minimal stomache problem though, they had coconut milk from bringhe and then some mayonnaise from potato salad. Or they just ate too much! All of what we have prepared are carbs- bringhe, potato salad, spaghetti... lol.

We had such a different celebration. We are used to firecrackers and fireworks and noise and jumping, here there is stillness. No fireworks anywhere, no children jumping... we think we are the only ones awake in our block. Firecrackers are not allowed in Singapore neighborhood. Most of our neighbors, I think, went to street parties and waited for the countdown. We were invited to join some New Year Party but we humbly declined and preferred to stay home. =)

After eating, we slept. Too much to do for a day of holiday.

For 2008...

For this new year, I plan to indulge myself some more and do things that will make me feel good.

1. I'm looking fat. I feel fat. I think I had too much rice and noodles. Will do try to lessen carb intake, I feel pudgy.

2. Try to like fruits. I don't like fruits, I hardly eat one. Instead of filling up with carbs, will have fruits. Hope I can do that. Tried eating an apple a day last September, I lasted only a week, then after that I think I haven't had any fruits yet.

3. Need to find a beauty regimen and stick to it. Had pimple break outs lately and what I did was use salicylic acid and allowed my face to dry up. Thinking moisturisers only add oil and oil means pimples. Now, my face is too dry. Dry skin is more prone to wrinkles, right? And wrinkles means ageing, right! Better start cleansing, toning and moisturizing.

4. Learn new skills. Skills like editing, not pcb ok hehehe. And putting on make up and baking maybe.

5. Be more accommodating. Be friendlier.

6. Be a good daughter. I haven't been a good one. Sniff sniff.

7. Read, Learn, and Share.

8. And the last on the list so far is the resolution that I had last year and year before... stop nail biting. =)

~I can't watch the movie Eugene is watching... too pitiful, the movie has no heart at all. Storyline is that they put cold blooded criminals in an island and whoever survives will be set free, they kill each other, imagine that. And worst is that they broadcast this. It's like big brother- lost- survivor. Can't believe anyone who can stand to watch it. Lol, Eugene is not standing anyway, he is lying on the bed.

Baboosh, gotta surf the net.

Christmas Treasure

Its Christmas Day! This is a Christmas day of firsts for me, know why?
1. First time I cooked Paella. For me it tastes too sour, too much tomato paste. Euge said it tastes okay.
2. First Christmas celebrated away from family. Both Euge and I were used to celebrating Christmases with our respective families, but now we are celebrating in Singapore.
3. I thought of work this Christmas, which of course sucks. I am used to having long yuletide holiday. Just not used to working on 24th of Dec and have dreaded duties by the 26th.
4. Our first Christmas as family, of course Eugene and I. Christmas day we went to Eugene's boss' lunch treat and then we watched a movie, National Treasure, Book of Secrets

All in all, its Christmas, who cares how I spent it, its Jesus' Birthday! Top of my wish list is hmmm... I decided not to share. lmao

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

drunk @ governor's

My cousins and I had a whole night of fun just being together with a bottle of vodka and magic sing.

Governor's Place is the place to be. Hahaha. I haven't had alcohol for like, 2 yrs. I used to drink pretty much, but this time, I felt tipsy. Not that we are really drunk in this pic, this is exaggeration of course.

Recalling, the worst mix that I had was gin and iced tea. In college, who wouldn't have heard of gin-pomelo, no pomelo juice so iced tea it is. Huwark! Worst taste, but we finished it anyway. Next day, the worst hangover that that was the first and last time I vomitted and haven't had any iced tea for the next month.

catching up!

Had a wonderful two-week vacation. It was more than a vacation. =) Dec 7 is our church wedding so went home only on Nov 30, thinking that 1 week before the event is enough. We were wrong, we were exhausted running errands after the other, we needed to go to chruch for our interview, pre-nup pictorial which meant a scheduled trial make up, shoe hunting which was a pain, visit principal witnesses which I think we failed- only visited a few, euge's confirmation, and other chow activities.

Oh, I almost forgot... inay had this surprise breakfast gathering for us. Hehe, I had a hint that they were planning something but logic won over and brushed the idea off. But hey, they did come- Tita May, Tita Olive, Joyce, Chiza, Tita Ne, Ate Ana, Glai, Pao, Lani, and the hosts- Inay and Itay- thanks for waking up early! Pa, Ma, and Mutya were there too- they picked us from the airport.
